A complete Early medieval strap end of Thomas' Class B, type 1, probably dating to c. AD 750-1100. The strap end tapers from the sub-rectangular attachment towards a debased zoomorphic terminal, the junctures between the attachment end, shaft and terminal all deliniated by finely incised transverse collars. The expanded area of the attachment end is decorated with three rows of three ring-and-dot punches, with two rivet holes above the decorated area, both retaining an iron rivet in situ. The detail of the zoomorphic terminal is obscured by abrasion, but it can be seen to be elongated…
