An incomplete cast lead or lead-alloy badge or mount, possibly dating to the late Medieval to Post Medieval period. The uniface object is in the form of a horse and rider but is broken. The surviving part of the horse depicts its lower body, hind and upper leg. The horse is very worn but appears to have moulded decoration that may represent livery. The rider sat upright on the back of the horse is rather crudely depicted. Only the upper torso, lower body and upper legs survive. A Post Medieval lead alloy button dating to the period c.AD 1600-1700. The button is discoidal or slightly hexagonal, with an integrally cast shank projecting from the reverse but now broken c2mm from its base. The front is slightly convex and the back probably originally flat, though the button has been bent at some point such that the back is partially slightly concave.
