A fragment of slightly worn/abraded flat lead non-heraldic personal seal matrix of Medieval date c.AD 1200-1350. Description: The fragment is roughly triangular and represents less than a sixth of the total size of the matrix. The reverse is undecorated, and the front shows a wide curved inner line dividing legend and device. The device is uncertain but looks to be more complicated than a simple star or fleur. The angle of the internal line would suggest the fragment is from a pointed oval matrix but its uncertain. The visible lettering remaining appears to be '_GIL_', likely from …

A heavily eroded and corroded struck copper alloy coin; most probably a Tournai style jetton of the later medieval period (1350-1450). The coin is too heavily worn to be identifiable and it is possible that it might in fact be a Roman As - although the thickness and what remains of teh surface do not 'feel' as if they date from this period. The jetton measures 27.2mm length, 23.1mm width, is 2.1mm thick and weighs 4.72 grams

A small copper alloy cast seal matrix of cruciform general shape with hollow circular centre, the three upper arms terminating in a rounded knops. The fouth arm carried a laterally compressed conoid with oval bottom that bears a now degraded design, possibly of a splayed heraldic bird with two heads, outlined with a recessed border. A similar example recorded as NLM-F77481 is thought to have a late medieval to post-medieval date and to be connected to the Baltic and Hanseatic trade routes of the North Sea; this link is harder to establish in this object's case.
