Lead spindle whorl. Cast cylindrical whorl with flat sides and a central moulded aperture of diameter 10.6mm, Walton Rogers form B. Patinated. Shrinkage lines around the hole may suggest this was cast in an open mould. Surface abrasions appear recent, perhaps dating from close to the time of discovery. The form and ample spindle hole may point to an Anglo-Scandinavian date while the mass may suggest a primary function plying cord. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 950-1100. Diameter: 33.2mm, Thickness: 8.1mm, Weight: 55.76gms

: Lead possible weight, perhaps used as a line weight. ~~Lead spindle whorl, this is a thick flat disc with a semi-circular recessed band that runs around the circumference of the rim. In the centre is a hole that is 10mm in diameter. Plain spindle whorls and weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards and are hard to date precisely.

Lead shot. Cast ball, with concentric surface markings probably from the inner surface of a bullet mould. The metal retains a grey tint pointing to a relatively recent date. The mass may suggest this was for use with a light fowling piece or 'rook and rabbit' gun. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. Diameter: 9.2mm, Weight: 4.83gms
