A medieval copper-alloy annular brooch, dating to c.AD 1200 - 1400. The brooch is circular in form and rectangular in cross section. It has a narrow rectangular recess with a small pin bar sraddling the void. One face appears plain with the exception of possible ridges? running its circumference. The other side is worn but appears to be inscribed with several words.  Diameter: 36 mm Width: 8 mm Thickness: 2 mm Weight: 8.65 g Malcolm Jones comments that the remaining visible letters 'renus' are from a longer inscription of "i(h)esus nazarenus"

An incomplete polished stone axehead, probably of Langdale Tuff. The axehead has an asymmetrical break at the butt end. The surface of the axe is granular but smooth with a distinct grey-green hue. The surfaces are finely polished with striations visible and very little visible of any flaking scars from the rough-out stage of manufacture. The object is sub-rectangular and tapers toward the butt and has a pointed oval section. A large fabricator or axehead roughout. It is elongate in shape with a rounded distal end and rectilinear proximal end. The cross section is plano convex. The flint is covered in a thin, smooth layer of off-white cortification. Patches of thick nodular cortex remain along the right side and distal end of the dorsal face with a thinner orangey sub-layer of cortification in between patches and covering the whole of the ventral face. All of the coins are official silver issues of the English monarchs Elizabeth I, James I and Charles I and will therefore be of over 90% fine silver. A detailed catalogue accompanies this report. There are two denominations present: the halfcrown and shilling. The face value of the coins in the 17th century was £1 6s 6d, easily a month's pay for a labourer at the time and several week's wages for a soldier in the Civil War. incomplete Roman copper alloy developed crossbow brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type CR 3 dating to the period c. AD 320 - 400. A large onion-shaped collared knob sits at the centre of the head, just above the central pin slot. One wing is missing. The remaining wing is cylindrical with a moulded flange projecting from the front edge and terminates in a collared onion-shaped knop. Worn gilt copper alloy plate brooch of Mackreth's Type 3b dating to the period c. AD 200 - 350. The round plate exhibits a central circular recess surrounded by a ridged border which would have probably housed a glass, paste or enamel setting, now lost. This is in turn surrounded by a series of concentric alternating flutes and ridges with a final ridged border running around the edge of the plate. Traces of gilding survive on the front face. A bifacially flaked laurel leaf-shaped knife. The flint is dark and mid-grey in colour with a low gloss patina. There are areas of thick, off-white nodule cortex reatined on the dorsal face towards the tip and at the butt. The ventral face has several large transverse thinning flake removals from the side edges. The dorsal face is more crudely worked with fewer flakes, also from the side edges. The tip of the knife has also been bifacially worked. The knife has an asymmetrical lentoid profile, deeper on the dorsal face. Date: Neolithic - c. 4000 - 250 BC Dimensions: 81 mm x 42.6 mm

The ball is impacted and one face is distorted to a smooth convex facet, suggesting the ball hit something hard, smooth and curved or concave. The bowl is curved away from the heel and the stem but breaks almost immediatey so the full form is unclear. The heel is incised with the makers mark WH. There is 17.1mm of stem remaining and the walls of which are 4.3mm thick with a diameter of 9.56mm with a 2.9mm hole in the centre. A post-medieval clay tobacco pipe bowl with no stem remaining. The bowl is swollen and convex curved from the heel to about two thirds up the bowl where it becomes straight where it meets the lip. The side of the bowl that meets the stem is slightly convex and goes straight near the lip of the bowl which is broken on this side. The heel has the indented letters W.H. An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped oval buckle. (c.AD1350-1650). The buckle is very corroded and consists of two sub-oval loops. The loops are bevelled on the front and flat on the reverse. There is a narrow central strap bar with the remains of the pin corroded around he bar. There are traces of a black lacquer. It measures 23.6mm long, 19.1mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 2.26 grams. Similar type buckles can be seen in Whitehead (2003) pp53.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy probable 'Winchester style' strap end (Thomas Class E) of later Early Medieval (10th - 11th century) date. A small decorated strip of copper alloy, probably of Roman date, and possibly part of a small bracelet or similar. The fragment plano-convex in cross section, and is truncated by old breaks at both ends. It is slightly curved in profile, although it is unlcear whether or not this was original. The concave face is decorated by a series of four transverse collars. It is 29.49mm in length, 5.13mm in width but tapering to 4.12mm along its extant length. It is 2.13mm thick. It weighs 2.03g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy La Tene I brooch dating to c. 400-200 BC. The bow and foot survive intact, with the coil and pin lost to an old break. The bow of the brooch is highly arched, sub-oval in cross section and tapering into the foot and coil. The bow was decorated with a series of incised transverse lines, the foot curves back upwards, terminating in an enemal inlaid roundel, with traces of three red pellets arranged equidistantly and a central reserved annulet.
