An incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting of later or post medieval date (AD 1400 - 1600). The fitting is irregular in plan, broadly rectangular with scalloped edges and tapering terminals. One terminal is broken away and the edge is patinated and eroded. The strap fitting is decorated by a series of transverse raised ridges dividing the plate into three parts. The central zone has the remains of an inscribed devise whose details are lost. A post-medieval clay tobacco pipe with the heel and a small portion of the bowl and stem remaining. The bowl is curved away from the heel and the stem but breaks almost immediatey so the full form is unclear. The heel is incised with the makers mark WH. There is 17.1mm of stem remaining and the walls of which are 4.3mm thick with a diameter of 9.56mm with a 2.9mm hole in the centre. An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped oval buckle. (c.AD1350-1650). The buckle is very corroded and consists of two sub-oval loops. The loops are bevelled on the front and flat on the reverse. There is a narrow central strap bar with the remains of the pin corroded around he bar. There are traces of a black lacquer. It measures 23.6mm long, 19.1mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 2.26 grams. Similar type buckles can be seen in Whitehead (2003) pp53.

A post-medieval clay tobacco pipe bowl with no stem remaining. The bowl is swollen and convex curved from the heel to about two thirds up the bowl where it becomes straight where it meets the lip. The side of the bowl that meets the stem is slightly convex and goes straight near the lip of the bowl which is broken on this side. The heel has the indented letters W.H. There is 2mm of stem remaining and the walls of which are 3.9mm thick with a diameter of 10mm with a 2.8mm hole in the centre. Cast copper alloy fitting, hollow, D sectioned with a 2.0mm wide x 0.9mm deep, square sectioned, transverse rib around its wider end. Both ends are now open but the opening on the flatter end may be a result of damage. The date and function of this object are unknown. It section, at 2.1mm at the open end and 1,0mm at the open end is too thin for it to be a Bronze Age gouge and a later date seems likely. One half of a Medieval copper-alloy swivel. The piece would originally have comprised two linked, D-shaped frames. The surviving side is of lozenge-shaped section, flaring at either end, terminating in what maybe a pair of inward-facing, zoomorphic heads. An incomplete cast copper alloy La Tene I brooch dating to c. 400-200 BC. The bow and foot survive intact, with the coil and pin lost to an old break. The bow of the brooch is highly arched, sub-oval in cross section and tapering into the foot and coil. An incomplete cast copper alloy hinged two-piece Colchester brooch of very late Iron Age to Early Roman date (25-60 AD). The head of the brooch is relatively small and two small broken stumpy wings extend from either edge. The wings are short tapering and solid with a rectangular cross section. A flint fabricator. Bifacially flaked and elongate in shape with an oval section. The object tapers from a rounded end to a smaller more pointed end. The larger end retains cortex, this also covers around one third of one face. The flaking is covering, scaled and low angle. The flint is opaque, light beige with a low-gloss patina, now covered in a layer of off-white chalky re-cortification. A bifacially flaked laurel leaf-shaped knife. The flint is dark and mid-grey in colour with a low gloss patina. There are areas of thick, off-white nodule cortex reatined on the dorsal face towards the tip and at the butt. The ventral face has several large transverse thinning flake removals from the side edges. The dorsal face is more crudely worked with fewer flakes, also from the side edges.
