Elizabeth 1st shilling, silver 1583 to 1602, sixth issue (Spinks 2014). Overall the coin is well worn, the circumferece of the coin is worn so that in sonme places the letters of the inscription are only half height. The Obverse inscription is ELIZAB DG ANG FR ET HIB REG. The reverse inscription is POUSI DEU ADIUTOREM MEU. The Obverse bust has been worn away and is not visible, but the inscription is visible. The reverse is a long cross on a shield, in the bottom right quarter are 3 lis, the bottom right is 3 lions. the other quarters are worn. The coin has been cut into two pieces…

An incomplete, hammered shilling of the commenwealth. The shilling has been bent in two by a plough strike so only the obverse can be seen, also bit of one edge has been ripped off. Mint mark is a sun, dating the coin to 1649-1657.
