A post-medieval silver fourpence or groat of Charles II (1660-1685). Milled coinage; dated 1673 (on coin). North 2768, Spink 3384. In VF condition. It measures 18.68mm in diameter, 0.82mm in thickness and weighs 1.81g. Obverse: Bust facing right; CAROLVS II/DEI GRATIA. Reverse: 16/73 MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX.; interlinked C's surmounted by crown (depicting value of four pence) quartered emblems of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
