A fragment of a cast, copper alloy buckle of Medieval date. The fragment consists of a plate from the outer edge of the buckle loop upon which the pin would of rested along with a short section of side frame that has become twisted and abraded in the plough soil. In plan the plate is a broad triangle with a rounded apex, the base is shallow arched indicating a D or Oval shaped buckle loop. A Dutch customs house oval lead cloth seal of modern date. It bears raised decoration on both faces: one face is marked R & A//279' (Regten en Accynsen//control number) and the other face has a crown above a shield bearing a lion rampant facing left, all within a border. The emblem is of the Lesser Arms of the Netherlands, and therefore post 1815. There are grooves on diametrically opposed edges marking the locations of the attachment cords. The dimensions are; length 22.5mm; width 19.7mm; thickness 4.1mm and it weighs 10.8g.

An incomplete copper alloy thimble. The thimble is domed shape with hand punched dimples arranged in circumfrential rows. The thimble is abraded and corroded and its base rim is lost. The thimble has a dark green with extensive areas of lighter corrosion. Similar thimbles have been dated to the later part of the medieval period (1400-1550) by Edwin Holmes (Sewing Thimbles FRG Datasheet 9). A crudely cast lead alloy Token from a Medieval / Post Medieval date, AD 1400 - 1800. Its shape is more oblong than round, and it measures 22.04mm in length, and 18.43mm in width. On one side it has a raised crosshatch design, and the other side is flat and undecorated. At one end the token has the remains of a casting sprue, bent down and under. Objects like this one could also have been used as a gaming pieces or Tallies.

It measures 18.68mm in diameter, 0.82mm in thickness and weighs 1.81g. Obverse: Bust facing right; CAROLVS II/DEI GRATIA. Reverse: 16/73 MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX.; interlinked C's surmounted by crown (depicting value of four pence) quartered emblems of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

An incomplete, cast copper alloy pot leg of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The artefact consist of the foot and part of the leg. The foot is broadly D shaped in cross section with a rounded back back and flat face. Ther eis a prominent central ridge running down the centre of the front face. The foot extends beyond the face as a thin rectangular pad. The leg is a dark green in colour with some sooty deposits. The width is 33mm, the truncated height is 32mm, it is 20mm thick, and weighs 83g.

A near complete, cast copper alloy buckle frame dating c1575-c1700. The frame is an asymetrical double loop, with a trapezoidal rear loop and a rounded front loop. The frame is decorated with prominent knops at either end of the strap bar. The frame has a flat rear, and a rounded face and sides that taper in slightly from the rear to the front. The strap bar is half round. The strap is dark brown in colour with no sign of any surface coating.
