Description: Terminal fragment from a Roman silver finger ring of Johns (1996) Type B iv. The terminal is in the form of a snake's head, D-shaped in cross-section with moulded and engraved decoration depicting the scales. The hoop is circular in cross-section, terminating in an old break. Copper alloy finger ring. Cast narrow band of D section, thickened and expanded at its shoulders where it assumes an angular form, possibly Henig type VIII [8]. Each shoulder forms a shield-shaped panel flanking a central rounded bezel. A line of four or five tiny [diameter 0.6mm] stamped dots runs up the centre of each shoulder, meeting a line of more closely juxtaposed dots at right angles. Copper alloy brooch fragment. Cast Colchester derivative brooch, probably Mackreth type CD RH1.c. Semi-circular wings bear vertically moulded bead and reel decoration on their display face, with some billeted decoration incised across these vertical elements. The wings are broken along the top, where a rearward facing hook may formerly have clasped the spring [now lost], and there is also a hollow at the centre of the back of the wings and the suspicion of relict solder or fixative. Description: Fragment of a Roman gold finger ring of Guiraud's (1989) Type 4g. The bezel is missing. The remaining portion of the D-sectioned loop exhibits an old break at either end and has been flattened out. One end remains slightly hooked.
