A copper alloy Medieval single-looped D shaped buckle of Meols Type 2, dating from about AD 1250 - 1350. The frame has a recessed and offset bar, with the pin and plate still attached. The outer edge is slightly expanded but otherwise plain. The pin is cut from sheet copper alloy and is bent into a loop round the bar. The sheet plate is incomplete. A single sheet from an incomplete sheet copper alloy zoomorphic strap end, dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1300 - 1400. The strap end is rectangular in plan and flat in side section, with a rounded closed end. At the open attachment end there are two complete copper alloy rivets (diameter: 2.3mm), one in each of the left and right corners. The front of the strap end is decorated with an elongated incised dragon or similar creature, which covers the full length of the artefact. A copper-alloy single-looped medieval buckle of Meols Type 2 dating from about AD 1250 - 1350. The frame is of oval form with a narrowed and offset pin bar; the pin and plate are missing. The outer edge is significantly expanded and set at an angle. The outer face is also concave. It is decorated with regulat transverse double rows of rouletted triangles forming stripes across the angled outer edge. The buckle frame has a smooth golden brown patina. A sherd of a Medieval or Post Medieval ceramic vessel dating from AD 1400 - 1700. It is probably Cistercian Ware or the related but later Blackware, possibly of the type made in Wrenthorpe. It is a small wall sherd and the fabric is dark red to purple, very hard and fine, with occasional white inclusions. The surface is gritty with quartz and there is a clear glaze on both faces.
