Description: The object consists of a very corroded iron shank with a circular, cast copper-alloy collar 10.5mm in height and 17.7mm in diameter approximately one third along the length of the shank. The corrosion of the iron masks any detail but it comes to a blunt point at each side of the collar, the longer section being square-shaped in section, the shorter section rectangular in section. A complete lead Pan Weight of Medieval date (AD 1100-1400). The object is sub-circular in plan with a raised design on one side. The design is composed of an equal armed cross with a pellet in each quarter. The object has slightly tapering sides which leaves the base slightly wider than the top. The base is flat and undecorated. Biggs and Withers (2000) illustrate several similar weights, e.g p.24, no.35 and 38. An incomplete cast copper alloy, double loop, spectacle buckle dating from the early Post-Medieval period, c.1500-1650. The frame has two oval loops angled at each end and a small, ovoid knop at each end of the strap bar. The upper surface of the buckle is slightly rounded and the underside is flat with an impressed groove around the outer part of the frame. There is no decoration. The pin is missing. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar buckle on p.55, no.314, which is dated from c.1500-1650.

Nineteen rifle bullets (a-s), all of apparently identical form: cylindrical rounded snub-nosed, with three circumferential grooves around the body, some retaining a red-brown deposit over a longitudinally billeted base to these gutters, most with a hollow base of depth c.12mm, and all with longitudinal striations from firing.
