A lead-alloy Tobacco Jar lid handle of Post-Medieval date (AD 1700-1800). The object takes the form of a human head. The head is a three dimensional male of African ethnicity. It has a broad nose and a short 'bowl-cut' hairstyle or hat. The object terminates in an oval-sectioned neck which flares out slightly to the point at which it is broken. The upper portion is a tapering rectangle with a split end and retained circular iron rivet. Below the rivet the upper portion is bevelled at its edges. An incomplete copper-alloy Vessel Handle of Medieval date (AD 1270-1350). The retained portion is the zoomorphic terminal, from which a right angled arm would have projected. The arm is now represented by a small circular spur projecting from the back of the zoomorphic head. Medieval copper alloy composite tongue-shaped strap end with full-width spacer. Two copper alloy rivets, one through the knop and one near the attachment edge. Opposed cut-outs before the knop there are five cut-outs on both sides, small rectangular, large rectangular, two small V-shaped and a another large rectangular.
