A rifle bullet of cylindrical form with a flat base, rounded nose with drilled hole of diameter 2.9mm, and with three fine circumferential grooves; with longitudinal striations from firing. The calibre would be suitable for use with the Sten gun, a sub-machine gun designed to use captured German ammunition during the Second World War. Suggested date: Modern, 1940-1945. Length: 15.7mm, Diameter: 9mm, Weight: 8.52gms

The white metal finish may be a coating or jacket. Probably from a magazine-loading rifle of military specification, and perhaps evidence for military practice. Suggested date: Modern, 1900-1945.
