A silver halfgroat of Charles I (1625-1649), Group A, dating to 1625-1626. Both sides show a crowned rose within a beaded inner circle. Initial mark, cross calvary (reverse). The flan is pierced. As Spink 2823; North 2249.

A copper alloy copy of a halfcrown of Charles I (1625-1649), based on an issue from 1642-1644. Obverse: King on horseback facing left, tail between legs; EBOR below. CAROLVS.DG.MAG.BRIT.FRAN.ET.HIB.REX. Reverse: Crowned oval shield with lion's skin garniture, head and paws showing. CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO. The coin shows evidence of a silver wash or tinned surface.
