Diameter is 32.72mm Thickness is 2.16mm Weight 11.9gm Obverse: CAROLVS D G MAG BRI FRA E[T] HIB REX. Horse and rider ,only horse leg and head visable. Reverse:[CH]R[ISTO] [AV] SPICE REGNO. Round garnished shield. Mintmark is Triangle on its side off center.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman strap fitting, dating to AD 43-410. It consists of an arched element, which has lost one of the two ends. The surviving end tapers towards a sideways protruding double leaf-shaped knobs. The central and concave part of the arched main body has a lozange-shaped cross-sectioned protrusion, which estends parallel to theforementioned lateral end arm (20.09 mm long), although it is shorter (12.68 mm long). An incomplete copper-alloy Roman lock-pin, dating to AD 43-410. It consists of a rectangular cross-sectioned shaft, which is sub-rectangular in plan and tapers towards the broken end; this end has traces of a circular perforation. The opposite end of the shaft has an expanded circular collar followed by a flattened sferical knob. An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval to Medieval hook tag, dating to AD 600-1200. It is sub-triangular in plan and bears three attachement holes along the upper edge. The opposite end is broken through the fold of the backward facing hook. The upper edge has a shallow V-shaped notch in between the holes. The tag is dented and slightly bent in its lower part. A complete cast copper-alloy rotary key dating to the Medieval period, c. 1150-1400. It demonstrates a circular bow with a large central aperture for suspension. The shank is oval in section and hollow, the bit rectangular in plan with a single small cleft taken out of each side. Preserved in good condition with an even greenish patina, it measures 33.88mm in length, 13.49mm in diameter at the bow, and 5.05mm thick at the midpoint of the shank. It weighs 5.27g. An incomplete cast copper furniture fitting or decorative stud dating to the Roman period, c. 43-410 AD. The fitting consists of a bulbous bun-shaped head, from the bottom of which protrudes a tapering sub-circular sectioned shank, the tip of which is broken away in old damage. It survives to a length of 16.34mm, while the head is c. 8.72mm in diameter. The shank is c. 2.71mm thick at its truncated end, and the entire object weighs 2.86g. Similar studs are published in Crummy's catalogue (Crummy 1981, p. 115, no. 2995) to which she assigns a broad Roman date. C.f also with GLO-A066…
