Object type: HARNESS PENDANT
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: North Lincolnshire

Copper alloy harness pendant. A cast plate with an oval loop with drilled hole at right angles to the display plane. The pendant itself is in a trilobate form perhaps intended as a fleur de lis, probably of a width equal to its height originally; the figure has cut edges which may signal manufacture from a larger plate or the cutting down of a larger pendant. The ends of the thin lobes are curled and bent. Suggested date: 1200-1500. Height: 31.3mm, Width (as found): 29.6mm, Thickness (at top of plate): 1.7mm, Weight: 3.21gms
