This button has a circle of indentations resembling a sunburst. There are similar indentations forming a border. The stub of a shank survives at the back.
This button is drab brown.

A similar button has been published and dated 1700-1800 (Bailey 2004: 62, fig. 9, ref: 170).

Post medieval copper alloy strapped fitting from a sword belt dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. A bifoliate suspension loop with two hooked plates looped around it. The loop has an inward turned central projection and two zoomorphic terminals in the form of serpents heads.
Each plate is a foliate shape and has been engraved with a foliate design. One has two rivet holes positioned on the long axis, the other is slightly smaller and exhibits only one. The corroded remains of iron rivets are visible in the rivet holes. There are traces of white metal coating visible in places.

An incomplete copper alloy Livery Button from the Modern date of AD1875. The front of the button has a raised rim, is worn and in parts corroded, which has removed much of its silvering. The left half of the front surface bears a rampant Lion, paw raised going left but facing front. On its right hand side there is an Eagle facing left, its wings partly open. A gold finger ring with internal inscription. The band is D-shaped in cross section. The exterior of the band is decorated with diagonal grooves and ridges. These are arranged as groups of three narrow ridges (two plain flanking a knurled one) with a deep groove separating each group. A fragment of gilded silver finger ring of composite construction. This is the incomplete bezel of a finger ring. All that remains is an incomplete lozenge-shaped bezel with a scalloped outer edge. The majority of the facing bust coins have the reverse SALVS AVG - Sam Moorhead has seen 8 specimens. There is one other incomplete specimen with a Pax reverse which is now confirmed by this piece.
