A fragment of gilded silver finger ring of composite construction. This is the incomplete bezel of a finger ring. All that remains is an incomplete lozenge-shaped bezel with a scalloped outer edge. There are three small raised knops applied the front of the plate, one in each remaining corner.The surface is decorated with four groups of incised radiating lines emanating from a scar in the centre where a missing element was soldered to the front. Fragment of a Medieval silver ring, circa 14th century, with incised Tau cross and droplet decoration around the hoop. The internal diameter is 17.8mm, the hoop narrows from 4.7mm to 3.3mm and has a rectangular cross-sectional profile around 1.3 mm thick. The narrow portion carries decoration only in the form of incised pinpoint droplets; the wider portion carries alternate T shapes and lines of four elongated droplets running parallel across the band.
