The coin is very worn and has been pierced at 5 o'clock on the obverse. An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date, c. AD 1620 - 1680. The buckle is a double loop trapezoid with expanded pointed ends and lobed protrusions to either end of the strap bar. Only a fragment of the bar remains, the middle portion having been lost to worn breaks. The tip of a circular sectioned pin is retained and adhered by corrosion to one of the outer loops. The metal has a mid-grey/green patina and is worn. The buckle is 42.2mm long, 21.8mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 5.5g. The object comprises a circular-sectioned stem with a 90 degree bend at one end and a broken and worn terminal at the other. An incomplete iron knife of possible Early-Medieval to medieval date, c.AD 600 - 1300. The blade is sub-triangular in both plan and section with a wide curved back and narrower, slightly curved cutting edge. The blade tapers to a blunted point at one end and straight shoulders with a narrow sub-ovate tang at the other. The knife is extremely rusted and the organic handle is missing. Description: A complete silver scalloped mount, probably a strap fitting or dress fastener. The mount is a sub-oval and can be divided into two halves - the upper part is undecorated with a central circular perforation. Below there are two moulded scallop shells, with the rounded outer edges of the shells creating the outer edge of the mount.
