A copper-alloy hollow three part General Service Button dating from the Modern Period, :- AD 1872 - 1924. The obverse of the moulded button has a shield bearing the Royal Coat of Arms, flanked to its left by a Lion rampant and to its right by a rampant Unicorn. The detail and lettering on the shield is illegible through wear. The reverse has a central wire loop, encircled by the makers name and address:- Firmin & Sons Ltd. London. The button measures 23.50mm in diameter, has a thickness of 7.65mm, and weighs 5.7g. The diameter of the loop is 6.37mm.

Description: It shows a standing robed mitred bishop with right hand outstretched in blessing and a cross shaped crozier in left hand. Detail is good in form although heavily worn. A heavily worn and abraded illegible cast copper-alloy seal matrix c.1200-1350. Description: The matrix survives in a pointed oval shape although all outer legend has been worn or cut away. The reverse has the remains of a raised ridge along its centre with the stub remains suspension loop at its apex.
