A cast copper-alloy probable pilgrims' badge or souvenir, likely of 15th century date.
Description: It shows a standing robed mitred bishop with right hand outstretched in blessing and a cross shaped crozier in left hand. Detail is good in form although heavily worn. It is flat on the reverse save for the stub of a fixing of some sort possibly broken integral rivet or fixing. It is mottled dark brown in colour.
Measurements: 26.86mm high. 17.32mm wide, 3.09mm thick and 2g in weight.
Discussion: A few similar examples are recorded on the PAS at NMS-64B512 and IOW-2DEFA3, SWYOR-506DB6. Similar examples illustrated by Spencer (1998: 72) have been attributed to Thomas becket but it is not possible to be certain as a number of other saints are also shown in a similar manner such as St Armel and St Leger.

A complete copper-alloy stacking trade weight of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500 - 1800. The weight is circular in plan with slightly raised sides and a central circular depression to the base. The upper surface bears an indistinct design featuring a crowned devise or lettering.

This is likely to be a single example from a nested set of differing sizes and weights which were used to weigh gold and silver in the form of coin, small objects or scrap metal or other precious materials.

A heavily worn and abraded illegible cast copper-alloy seal matrix c.1200-1350.
Description: The matrix survives in a pointed oval shape although all outer legend has been worn or cut away. The reverse has the remains of a raised ridge along its centre with the stub remains suspension loop at its apex. Measurements: 22.87mm long, 12.09mm wide, 3.49mm thick and 2.28g in weight.
Discussion: This matrix fits with a group of commonly reported simple non-heraldic personal and anonymous seal matrices dating to the 13th - mid 14th (Harvey and McGuinness 1996. 79-80). Further identificaiton is impossible due to wear.

Date: The original batch of objects from this hoard was dated to the Late Bronze Age, 1000-700 BC, and the additions do not change the likely date. The findspot and date of the objects strongly suggest that they represent additional elements of the scattered hoard previously reported as 2016T470 (NMS-6DAFAC). They therefore constitute an addendum to this case and qualify as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
Update: Two objects found 18th October 2016 were subsequently realised to be part of this hoard, and have been recorded at NMS-141277 (2022T428).131333-1000-70012018T5934NMS2016-10-18T00:00:00Z2018-11-25T00:00:00Z65340IND09082018JS2018-08-22T15:36:24Z2022-08-01T17:15:52Z351.28PAS5B7D74E8001BE8107232141425723865297024NorfolkNorth NorfolkBarton TurfTG332352.754337471.451345136NMS-D751C8Copper alloy10627IncompleteBRONZE AGEx13712LateLateBRONZE AGEx13712x13712Metal detectorSubmitted for consideration as Treasure60464_D74E8B_BA_Hoard_1_Axehead.jpg1116231images/awilliamsnorfolk/EasternCertain12022-08-01T16:15:52.237ZBuckinghamshire1CountyStruck or hammered12ROMAN1Certain8224038Metal detectorBUCD74173.jpg119012017GPS (from the finder)Philip_the_Arab6111975672609104RODistrictCertain229726BUC11903249Thorntonx412182.99antiocheia_pisidiaAylesbury Vale11728Radiate (antoninianus)2018-08-23T12:09:05ZReturned to finderSouth EastExactly
