An incomplete and worn Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), minted at Bury St Edmunds. Possibly class 10cf, 1305-1310 (North 1991: 32, refs: 1040-1043).
Obverse: ED[WA]R ANGL DNS hYB; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown and wedged drapery.
Reverse: VILL/SCIE/DMV/NDI; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant.
Diameter: 17.0mm. Weight: 0.71g. DA=12:8.
