Copper alloy possible ammunition fragment. A fragment of a solid cast lightly concavo-convex object of estimated diameter 40mm with a central aperture, possibly of diameter 16.1mm, and with a circumferential groove on its convex face. The object has been fractured and distorted, probably with explosive force. This condition may suggest this to be a fragment from the nose or fuse of a light shell, possibly from an anti-aircraft gun, though the find spot could allow it to have been fired from either land or sea.
