A complete lead alloy possible spindle whorl of Unknown date (c. AD 43-c. 1800). The spindle whorl is sub-circular and is hemi-spherical, domed at the top and flat on the underside. A central hole has parallel sides and is 9.2mm in diameter. This spindle whorl is greyish buff. Length: 25.0mm; width: 24.1mm; thickness: 10.4mm. Weight: 35.37g. Plain spindle whorls and weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards and are hard to date precisely although most are late Medieval or post-Medieval.

The object is broadly triangular in section and has a central, circular perforation. The original dark grey surface of the object is now largely covered by a rough, light grey patina. The object is 24.61mm in diameter, 8.90mm in thickness and weighs 29.32g. The diameter of the perforation is 8.56mm. Roman (mid 1st to 2nd century) brooch: The lower portion of the bow remains. The bow is broken at the upper edge which is at the approximate midpoint of the bow, the lower terminal tapers to a blunt point. The upper break is not a recent.
