A Medieval silver coin; half cut voided long cross penny of Henry III (AD 1216 - 1272), Class Va - Vc dating from AD 1250 - 1256. The moneyer is probably Gilbert at Canterbury, but the reverse lettering is not grouped in the usual way reading: "[...]/(RT)[-]/ON C". The coin appears to be double struck, having moved in the die, leaving a wide space after the T of the moneyer's name, and between the HE and the N of HENRIC. It is 16.6mm long, 9.0mm wide and 0.75mm thick. It weighs 0.59gm. See North number 991/1 - 993, pages 226 - 227 of North (1994) Volume 1.
