A complete, cast copper-alloy, sub-triangular buckle dating to the medieval period, (AD 1250 - 1400). Description: The buckle is sub-triangular in plan and D-shaped in section with an offset and narrowed bar. The front of the buckle is decorated with three, cast copper-alloy, dome-headed rivets, one attached to each angle of the frame. Rim fragment from a copper-alloy cooking vessel, of probable medieval date. The fragment is 36.8mm wide and a maximum of 28.5mm high, and is roughly trapezoidal in profile and gently curved in plan. There is a teardrop-shaped swelling at the inner face, extending to a maximum thickness of 2.8mm and to a depth of 6.0mm below the bevelled rim. Post Medieval cast copper alloy double-looped asymmetric buckle. The frame has one d-shaped and one trapezoidal loop and is a little thickened at the ends of the integral strap bar. The d-shaped loop has a projecting lobed knop, presumably acting as a pin rest. The frame is D-shaped in section with a flat back and bevelled sides. Areas of rust at one side of the strap bar and (on the same side), in the corner of the trapezoidal loop, are probably the remains of the iron pin. The frame is bent and the surface is corroded.
