An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date, c. AD 1150 - 1450. The object is a composite strap end with forked spacers. It is comprised of two plates which are sub-rectangular in plan, tapering almost to a point before widening into two symmetrical knops then narrowing again and terminating in a trefoil knop. The other end of the plates are bifurcated. Both plates are decorated with an incised single line border inset slightly from their edges, following the sub-rectangular shape and tapering into a point where the knops begin. An almost complete Early Medieval copper alloy strap end of Class A Type 2, dating from c. AD 750-1100. The strap end is sub triangular in shape, with convex sides which taper down to a narrow terminal rounded point. At the split attachment end are two circular holes on both plates, the reverse plate is worn and broken, and missing one of the rivet holes, only part of one remains.
