Lead from a casting well and gate weighing 49.5g. The well is keel shaped, with a convexly curved elongated asymmetric semi-circular length profile measuring 47.9mm. The well has a maximum width of 16.7mm which also has a convexly curved sub-semi-circular cross-section. The well has a maximum depth of 11.6mm. The top of the well is flat with a slight hint of concave depression. The well has an elliptical shape. At the wider end a protrusion of metal is likely to be the remains of a casting gate. A lead or lead-alloy uniface token of Medieval to early Post-Medieval date. This artefact was probably cast, having quite a uniformly circular flan with the exception of c.7.4mm of the circumference which protrudes outwards for an extra 2.4mm. This protrusion may possibly be the remains of a casting sprue. The object weighs 1.89g, has a diameter of 16.6mm increasing to c.17.7mm in line with the protrusion, and a thickness of 1.3mm. Lead pot mend with sub-oval plates, 36.5mm x 30.5mm and 31.2 x 25.2mm. Thickness 15mm. Gap for pot 1 - 5.5mm. No trace of fabric visible between plates. Possibly Roman. Pot mends of this form occur in both Roman and medieval contexts and it is not possible to assign a date without traces of ceramic fabric.

A lead pot mend broadly dating from the Roman to the Medieval period. The object has a flat sub-circular head and a recessed groove extending to a globular protrusion on the reverse. No remains of the ceramic fabric are visible in the groove.
