A flint tranchet axehead from the early Mesolithic period (c.9000 - 8000 BC). The flint is a brownish-cream colour with crumbling inclusions visible. The axe is crudely worked, with a rounded cutting edge, roughly parallel sides and a pointed butt. It has a broadly triangular cross-section. The flint appears to be in the second stage of being worked. The broad shape of the blade and technique used of the removal of a single flake with a transverse blow is common in the early Mesolithic. A tertiary flint blade, of Early Mesolithic or Early Neolithic date (9000-6500BC/4000-3300BC) which has completely recorticated and is now white in colour with the exception for a small recent chip which shows the dark grey to black flint below. Bulb and point of percussion visible as are conchoidal ripple marks.
The dorsal face shows removal of parallel blades. Possible short parallel to sub-parallel abrupt to semi-abrupt retouch on the proximal dorsal and proximal dorsal mesal edge.

An incomplete knapped lithic implement of late Neolithic date, circa 2700 BC - 2350 BC.
The implement is the distal portion of a polished knife formed from a tertiary flake which is D-shaped in plan having been broken to one end and has a pointed ovate section. The object has been bifacially worked and displays low angle removals. The distal edge has been polished resulting in a smooth curve.
The flint is a dark grey colour. The implement is 30mm long, 25.1mm wide, 8.5mm thick and weighs 7.9g.
