An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch dating to the Roman period, c. 43-100 AD. This is possibly a variant of the Colchester Derivative series. The pin, spring and catchplate are missing in old damage, but otherwise it survives intact. It demonstrates a rectangular sectioned winged head, the front of each wing being stamped with a single ring-dot motif and the head also retaining traces of a white metal coating. An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval strap end, dating to AD 800-900. It consists of an elongated oval plate. The attachment end is broken through two circular holes, where is visible a V-shaped slot. The front face has a very worn incised/moulded zoomorphic design, depicting a facing bat like creature with two elongated oval ears. A copper-alloy Early Medieval to Medieval hooked tag, dating to AD 800-1150. It consists of a circular plate with a projecting hook from the centre of its lower edge. Where the hook meets the plate there is a circular expansion which bears, on the front, a ring-and-dot motif. A copper-alloy nummus imitating an issue of Constantius II (AD 323-361) dating to c.AD 348-350 (Reece period 18). Reverse: copying FEL TEMP REPARATIO, Emperor standing left on galley holding palladium, being rowed by Victory in stern. Prototype mint uncertain, cf. RIC VIII, p. 153, no. 218 for an official Trier issue. This coin is a good quality copy, though the irregular letterforms in the obverse and reverse legends bely its status as an imitation.
