An incomplete Post Medieval silver three farthings of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), dating to AD 1561. Second coinage, pheon initial mark. Minted in London. North (1991: 135) no. 2002. There is slight edge damage to the coin in the 11-1 o'clock position on the obverse, with a small amount of flan missing. Obverse: Crowned bust facing left with worn rose behind the head. [EDG R]OSA [SINE SP]INA. Reverse: Square shield with date above, long cross fourchee dividing the legend. CI[VI/ TAS/] [LON]/ DON.
