Three heavily abraded body sherds and one base sherd of Roman greyware vessels. The base sherd is a small fragment from a narrow based vessel with sides that are expanding outwards at around 75 degrees to the base, probably a jar. The micaceous fabric varies from pale to mid-grey with a silty texture, abundent fine sand temper and occasional (5-10%) rounded inclusion up to 1mm, probably limestone or other grey stone. 22g in total weight.

A fragment of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman date, c.AD250-410. The fragment is a rim sherd from a Huntcliff calcite-gritted ware vessel. The fabric is dark brownish-black in colour with a pitted outer surface. Some calcite inclusions are present which are heterogeneous in size and visible where the rim has broken away from the body of the vessel. The fragment indicates that the vessel had an everted rim and bears a groove along the inside of the lip, either as a decorative feature or marking the place where a lid would rest. An incomplete late-medieval to early post-medieval purse frame (c. 1450 - c. 1600). It fits into Williams Type 1A (2018, p. 2, fig. 3). The frame is L-shaped in cross-section with one clear circular sewing hole close to one terminal. The frame is decorated with double incised lines forming a zig-zag pattern on one of the outer edges. The frame has a slight curve to it but appears broken at both terminals. It has a dark green patina. Length 60.37mm, width 7.75mm, thickness 4.65mm and weight 8.62g.

An incomplete and broken lead alloy toy gun (1600 - 1700). The toy is probably modelled on the petronel pistol that was popular in the 17th century (Forsyth & Egan, 2005: 97). The toy consists of a cylindrical barrel, powder pan and hollow decorated butt, the trigger of the gun appears to be missing. The butt is decorated on one side with diagonal ridges with three pellets between each ridge and a raised border containing the pattern. The toy has a beige patina. An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval mount with pendant loop, dating to AD 1270-1400. It is a rectangular plate with a semi-circular cross-sectioned metal strip extension on the lower edge. The extension is folded backward and upwards to create a loop which holds an oval cross-sectioned iron fragment. ROSA.SINE.SPINA. Obverse initial mark is an escallop AD1584-1586. Reverse shows a long cross-fourchee over a shield bearing the royal arms. Reverse legend reads CIVI/TAS/LON/DON. Reverse initial mark is an escallop. Die axis is 4 or 5 o'clock. Weight is 0.91g, diameter is 18.3mm, thickness is 0.6mm.

Post medieval pottery vessel sherds. One base sherd, four rim sherds and nine body sherds of glazed red earthenware (c. 1500 - 1700). The fabric of the sherds is a hard earthenware with sub-angular inclusions or grit and quartz varying in colour from white to dark grey. The colour of the fabric is orange with some of the sherds glazed in a dark red brown slip and burnished, the inner fabric of the sherds is a lighter orange. Weight 478g.

A fragment of enamelled cast copper-alloy probable bridle boss of likely 17th century date. Description: The fragment survives roughly circularly in plan, barring breaks. It is roughly domed also. The central dome has knotwork decoration cast in relief creating cells into which dark cobalt blue enamel has been inlaid in the champlevé technique. The knotwork is roughly cruciform with each arm formed from pair S-scrolls and has a central boss, it is worth noting it may have an intentional vegetative effect. A copper-alloy Medieval thimble, dating to AD 1350-1500. It is domed and it has two incised lines running along its base. The circular fine identations are hand drilled and are applied in vertical lines on the sides, while on the base of the crown they are applied in three concentric circles. The crown has a tonsure-like patch free of indentations; the top of the crown has a circular indentation on its centre. One edge of the thimble is slightly bent inwards. An incomplete cast copper-alloy composite strap end dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. Only the internal forked spacer survives, the side plates and rivets missing in old damage. One arm of the spacer is broken away and its remainder twisted outwards, the object being broadly 'U' shaped in plan view with an acorn-shaped terminal demonstrating two transverse mouldings. An incomplete copper alloy medieval annular brooch, dating to AD 1200 - 1300. The brooch consists of a circular frame which is semi circular in cross section, about a third of the frame is now missing. The breaks are worn, at one of the breaks the frame narrows to a sub triangular knop, this may be the remains of narrowed pin bar. A cast lead bag seal of the middle Post Medieval period (AD1600-1700). The seal consists of a double cast disc with bifurcated slots which would have had a drawstring attached. One face of the seal is decorated with a shield surmounted bya cross. The shield is sub-divided by a cross; in the two upper quarters are five pellets whilst the two bottom quarters are empty. A worn lead alloy pilgrims badge of medieval or early post medieval date. The object is lozenge shaped in plan with a beaded border. In the centre of the object are the letters IHS in Gothic script inside an incised framing border. The letters are the Christogram representing the Latin for "Jesus the Saviour of Man". The rear of the object is slightly concave with traces of an integral pin attached. The pin would have projected out from the top edge of the rear of the brooch before turning at a 45 degree angle. The badge has a light to mid grey patina and is in good condition.
