An incomplete copper alloy Polden Hill type brooch dating to the Roman period (c. AD 70-100). The brooch consists of the head with wings and spring and part of the bow. The lower part of the brooch including the rest of the bow, foot catchplate and pin are all missing. The wings are plain and concave to accommodate the spring. The head of the brooch has the top loop holding the spring in place. Part of the pin extends from the spring but terminates in a worn break.
