Complete handaxe of Wymer's type D, of glossy black flint with few slightly lighter inclusions. The "blank" for this piece was a piece of a larger nodule of flint, much reduced in size by multiple thermal (frost) fractures, these are evident at the butt, on both faces, as this area is almost completely unworked and consequently is of irregular shape and quite thick. All flake removals are hard hammer struck and are only concentrated towards the point and the tip, it took few removals to produce this piece. A fragment of post-medieval ceramic, probably midlands yellow ware, (circa 1600 - 1800). The fragment comprises a peak or spike which could be interpreted as part of a foot or as a lug or handle. Assuming it is a foot, the fragment forms part of some concave dish or bowl.
The fabric is a dark grey with some lighter inclusions. The concave upper, or inner surface, has a thick yellow glaze. The convex lower surface and the stump of the 'foot' has an abraded brown glaze.
Overall width 36 mm, length 58 mm. Height 41 mm, thickness 7.5 mm. Weight 56 g.

Incomplete and unusual handaxe, of Wymer's type F? (Wymer. J. 1999), the point is broken in antiquity by a transverse bending fracture. Of slightly brown patinated dark grey and black flint with pale grey coarse inclusions with mottles of both in between. It is slightly rolled with minor losses to the high points of the flake scars and the edges, but otherwise it is in fresh condition. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman figurine bust of Minerva, dating to AD 43-410. It depicts the bust of the front facing goddess emerging from a chalice-shaped flower. Minerva is wearing a draped robe with a possibly head of Gorgon placed on her chest; she is wearing a tall helmet with a central main crest and two other on the sides, which merge together at the rear bottom of the helmet. An assemblage of five sherds from coarse ware vessels of late medieval date (circa 1300 - 1550), comprising;-
A base sherd. Fabric is reduced grey to pale pink with coarse sandy inclusions and voids, some large (4 mm). Surfaces appear to have a grey slip, abraded. Wall is 8.1 mm thick, base is 10.7 mm thick.
A rim sherd. Fabric redish pink, numerous pale angular inclusions, some voids. Broad rim (20 mm). Wall is 8 mm thick. Inner surface has red-brown slip. Outer surface is darker brown with a much abraded brown glaze.

A complete knapped lithic implement of early Neolithic date, c.4,000 - 2,200 BC. The implement is a flint thumbnail scraper, designed to be held between the thumb and forefinger, formed from a secondary flake which D-shaped in plan and section. A Silver cufflink. The object comprises two discs with loops at the rear, joined by a silver chain link. The discs are circular with down turned edges, now bent out of shape in places. The upper surfaces of the discs are decorated with two hearts and a crown above on a stippled background. The reverse of the discs have an applied 'D' shaped silver loop attachment in the centre with a long oval silver loop between the two halves. The connecting loop has been stamped with a possible maker's mark which is indistinct.

An incomplete copper alloy post medieval rowel spur dating to 1600-1700. The spur consists of two arms and the neck. The neck curves slightly and widens, with a central split to hold the missing rowel. Either side of the split is a rounded knop, which have patches of red brown ironing staining on them. The arms curve down in a triangular shape, and are oval in cross section. Both arms end in a worn break. The rowel spur rowel has a dark green patina, and measures 46.8mm in height, 48.1mm in width, and 23.51g in weight.

A complete knapped lithic implement of Mesolithic date, c.10,000 - 4,000 BC. The implement is a flint borer formed on a tertiary flake which is sub-triangular in plan and triangular in section. The ventral surface is smooth with a point of impact and bulb of percussion visible. One flattened edge appears to be part of the striking platform. The dorsal surface exhibits three negative flake scars and two arrises. One area of short, semi-abrupt, scaled removals are present at the top of the left edge, narrowing the flint into a point for boring.

A complete medieval copper alloy single loop buckle, dating from c. AD 1350-1400. The frame is rectangular in shape, and has been distorted, making it slightly lozenge shaped. There is no decoration. On one of the longer frame bars the pin is looped round, this consists of a piece of copper alloy which narrows to a point at the terminal end. Close to the loop of the pin is a ridge.The buckle has a dark green patina, with patches of light green. It measures 25.9mm in length, 25.7mm in width, and weighs 3.93g.
A similar buckle is shown in Egan and Pritchard 1991, page 95, number 430.

A copper-alloy fragment of a possibly Roman unidentified object, dating to AD 43-410. In plan, it has a shape of a C-shaped scroll with a sub-rectangular cross-section. It tapers towards one possibly broken end. The outer face has a central longitudinal band decorated with oblique notches; at the bottom and the top of the band there is a incised line. The band tapers towards the possibily broken end til it fades away. The opposite end of the object is broken and worn.
