The object is made from a rectangular sheet that would have been curled into a circular hoop. Only a portion of this hoop survives which has then been squashed slightly, but not flat. The strip has potentially been bent intentionally as part of its original design. This includes outer edges which are bent downwards and from which the body domes upwards before curving to another lower point at its middle. This gives the fragment the look of two rings placed above one another. The fragment retains its gold colour has occasional dents and no further decoration. Dimensions: The fragment …

Copper alloy unidentified object. An encrusted fragment of copper alloy with a shallow trough along one side and an irregular but essentially convex surface on the other. This might be a fragment from a cylindrical object, though if so, it has been dismantled with explosive force - a characteristic of exploded munition fragments or machine parts of the modern period, but rare before that time. Suggested date: Unknown, Roman to Modern, 43-1950. Length: 32.6mm, Width: 11.2mm, Thickness: 4.8mm, Weight: 8.18gms

Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL

Lead unidentified object. A small cast hemispherical boss standing proud of a thin [1.2mm] flat-bottomed and possibly circular base; it is uncertain whether the curled edges may point to this being the solid punt from the bottom of a small vial or lid, or whether they represent post-depositional damage to the edges of an originally flat surface. The boss has a circular incised line on top, and either another line or a slight waist around its middle. Patinated. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1900. Diameter: 18.2mm, Thickness (at boss): 6.6mm, Weight: 7.13gms
