Medieval copper-alloy oval seal matrix of Isabella de Vernon (c. AD 1261 - 1350). The seal matrix is flat and oval in shape, with a D-shaped attachment lug positioned at the top on the back face. A wide, flat ridge runs from the bottom of the lug to the opposite edge. Around the edge on the front face runs an inscription: S'ISABELLE DE VERNOVN, the seal of Isabella de Vernon. A fragment of a circular copper alloy medieval seal matrix, 25.8mm across. Approximately half of the die face, which was originally circular, remains. A single circular suspension loop is present on the rear of the object.
The design consists of the head of a figure presented in profile and facing left, with a stylised curl of hair and simply incised features.
