Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill. It has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar which is now missing resulting in the loss of the spring and pin. A rearwards facing loop at the back of the head holds the external cord of the spring, this extends down the front of the head forming as small crest. The foot and catch plate are truncated. Date 80-120AD.
