Fragment of copper alloy Roman Colchester Derivative Harlow type brooch. Half of the spring, the pin, lower part of the bow and catchplate are missing, all from old breaks. The remainder of the brooch, the external chord and half the axis bar survive. Both wings are flat, sub-rectangular in section and are decorated on their upper faces with twin oblique grooves The undecorated bow curves up from the wings and narrows in width along it's length before terminating at an old break. The bow cross-section is that of a shallow D, flanked with moulded slightly flanged sides. Circa AD43-80.

Slightly damaged polished stone axehead of Neolithic date (c. 4000 - 2350 BC). The axehead is formed from grey stone, probably Langdale tuff. The surface of the object has been weathered and is rough and pitted, to a greater degree on one side than the other. The more weathered side is also darker in colour. A complete Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular unifaced token. Powell Type 2. (AD 1550-1800). On one side are the raised initials KC. The other side is blank. The token measures 18.9mm in diameter, 2.4mm thick and weighs 5.02 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely. Those with intials are thought to be Post Medieval in date.

A Late Neolithic/ Early Bronze Age (2500 BC - 1500 BC) flint end-scraper on a secondary flake, broadly D-shaped with a triangular cross-section. The flint is translucent at its edges and dark grey in colour retaining a thick layer of cortex along one edge. The object has been worked on the dorsal face at the wide distal end, left edge and upper right edge. The retouch is short, scaled and abrupt. It measures 32.9mm in length, 44.8mm in width, 13.0mm in max.thickness and weighs 21.18g.

An incomplete and somewhat worn base silver (billon) bawbee of Mary I of Scotland (Mary, Queen of Scots) dating c. 1542-1558. Obverse: crowned thistle flanked by cipher M R, +[MA]RIA D G REGINA SCOTORV. Reverse: St Andrews cross with crown at centre flanked by cinquefoils, [OP]PIDVM ED[INB]VRGI. Mint of Edinburgh. Seaby 5432. Part of the coin has broken away in old damage, coincident with a deep crack that runs into its centre.

An complete cast copper-alloy strap fitting dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1330-1380).The fitting consists of a single loop that is rectangular in plan and pentagonal in cross-section. The front bar is offset with an off-centred raised angular knop. The strap bar is bent slightly outwards, inside of which are two pointed internal projections, one on each side of the frame. Thue upper and lower surfaces of the frame are relatively flat and plain. The strap fitting measures 32mm in length, 20mm in width and is 2.5mm thick. It weighs 3.94 grams. See Read 2001, p. 21, no. 199.

Silver gilt dress hook the plate is rectangular with a beaded flange running around the outside. There are six globular knops on the outside, one in each corner and one in the middle of both the long edges, with four straight projections separating the knops on the two long sides. The central plate is raised and decorated with five pellets situated in a cross-shape, with curvilinear ropework decoration in between. A small triangular projection at the base forms the top of the hook. towards the top of the reverse is evidence where a loop was soldered onto the back plate, but is now missing.

A complete, post medieval uniface lead, token. Powell type 14. One side has a raised cross motif extending to the edge, with arrows visible at least two of the cross endings. The reverse is blank.Tokens had a wide variety of uses and were easy to manufacture; they are therefore difficult to date precisely outside of archaeological contexts; those with this design are generally thought to be post medieval in date, c.1550-1800 AD.

A near-complete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of the Aesica type, dating to the first century AD (c. AD 43-75). the brooch has a wide triangular bow that tapers towards the head; the foot of the bow has two peripheral knops on the outer corners, and below the head two more peripheral knops sit on triangular extensions either side of the bow. Deep diagonal and horizontal grooves divide the bow into opposing triangular cells and form the only decoration.
