Abraded sherd from the base of a Roman samian ware vessel dating 1st to 3rd century AD (c. AD 50-250). Part of an abraded foot ring is visible on the base. The body is a hard fired red-orange fabric. Traces of the glossy slip survive on the internal and external surface.
