A copper alloy medieval seal matrix, dating from1200-1400 AD. The seal face is round in shape, with the die depicting a letter, either d or p. The letter is surrounded by branches, and around this is a circular solid border. Part of the edge of the die is worn and broken.
The seal extends up into the handle which is a hexagonal shape. The attachment loop is lozenge shaped, with two raised oval collars below, the lower one is in higher relief to the others.
