The group consists one base sherd (preserved in fresh condition with a reddish slip), three abraded body sherds (one of which demonstrates abraded 'feathered' moulded decoration) and one very abraded rim sherd. All the latter retain only small amounts of their original covering slip. Combined weight: 14g.

Complete Roman jar or urn of black burnished ware (BB2), (c.43 - 250 AD). The top of the vessel was broken during retrieval, while the remaining two thirds of the vessel remains intact. The vessel is wheel thrown, with a flat bottom, rounded sides and an everted rim. The fabric of the vessel is black throughout and hard, with minimal to no inclusions.
