An incomplete base silver Roman denarius, probably of Severus Alexander (AD 222-235), dating to the period c.AD 222-224 (Reece period 11). P M TR P [...] P P, Jupiter standing left, cloak over right arm, holding thunderbolt and sceptre. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC IV.3 no. 5 passim.
This coin was originally recorded as being of Macrinus, however the obverse legend and reverse type appear closer to coins of Severus Alexander.
