Copper-alloy Roman zoomorphic strap slide with remains of copper-alloy rivet or pin (c. 43 - 410 AD). The object is circular in plan and domed, taking the form of a lion's head. The object was found with a copper-alloy pin with circular section pushed through two circular holes which form the lion's eyes. One eye hole is almost double the size of the other, probably as a result of wear when the pin was removed. Both ends of the pin appeared to be missing in old, abraded breaks. An incomplete silver Medieval book clasp/fitting dating 12th-13th century.
The remains of this fitting consists of a terminal loop, which is held in the open mouth of a stylised animal head, possibly a hound or wolf. The circular loop has a flattened 'D' shaped cross-section with a width of 2.3mm and thickness of 1.3mm. The internal aperture is circular and has a diameter of 2.2mm. The beast has a blunt-ended muzzle that forms a triangular zone, the apex of which ends between the eyes that are positioned on top of the head in 'V' shaped recesses. Copper alloy foot fragment from a vessel, probably a cauldron, of medieval or post-medieval date (c.1200 - 1600 AD). The fragment is in the form of an animal foot; it is a rounded triangle in plan and section, with four slightly convex 'claws' on the upper face. The surface of the object is very rough and has a green patina. The object is 18.72mm in height, 31.67mm in width and weighs 49g.
This style of foot was popular on cauldrons from the medieval into the post-medieval period and there are many examples recorded on the database, including: NLM-69D3BE, SUR-92F0CB and SUR-E89F64.…

Copper-alloy and enamel horse harness pendant of medieval date (c. 1300 - 1400 AD). The pendant is flat and sexfoil in form, although most of the arms are now missing, leaving a hexagonal body with a small circular suspension lug. Four blue enamel triangles survive on the front face, widening from the centre to each side of the hexagonal body. Otherwise, the object is dark brown in colour. The pendant is 28.80mm in length, 18.77mm in width and 2.37mm in thickness. It weighs 3g.

Lead weight formed from folded sheet of uncertain date within the period c. 43 - 1700 AD. The object is broadly rectangular in plan but of irregular shape. It has been made by folding the two ends of a long rectangular lead sheet in until they overlap on one side and meet on the other side. The object has a cream-coloured patina. The fold is now filled with organic detriment. The object is 16.75mm in length, 14.47mm in width and 10.35mm at maximum thickness. It weighs 10g.

Lead bag seal of post-medieval to modern date (c. 1700 - 1826 AD). The bag seal is broadly discoid in shape, although the edges are greatly chipped and broken. On one side the raised letters SPB are visible, beneath which is a date although unfortunately this is too worn to read; the first two numbers are possibly 18. Copper alloy Medieval strap-end. 52mm long with slightly tapering sides. Wider attachment end is slightly concave and the narrower terminal end is clipped at the corners to form a blunt nose. The wider end has two circular rivet holes set close to the sides and end. The front face is engraved with straight side borders between which is a mythical beast, probably a wyvern, engraved longitudinally. The beast is two-legged with a bulbous head and body and elongated claw-like tail, long open jaw and large teeth. The body and neck are marked with interspersed dots. Circa AD1250-1400.

A copper-alloy Iron Age to Roman enamelled circular stud, dating to c 50 BC- AD 100. It has an flattened oval cross-section. The front face has a champlevé motif, depicting a sequence of running scrolls. The recesses of the metal are filled with blue and red enamel. The back face has an oval cross-sectioned projection; around the base of the spike there are traces of soldering.
