A broken cast copper-alloy Roman finger ring of c. third century date. The ring is a small example comprising a slender, rectangular-sectioned hoop which has broken at one side of the bezel. The bezel is oval in plan and the shoulders of the finger ring are constricted at the intersection of the bezel and hoop. The remains of a white paste can be seen in the bezel; this may have been the glue for a decorative insert of the remains of degraded enamel.
Width of bezel: 5.2mm.
Width of ring band: 1.6mm.
