An incomplete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) copper-alloy polyhedral pin (700-900). Hinton 1996: 22, fig. 9. The lower part of the shaft is missing. The head of the pin is cuboid in form and the corners have been cut off (chamfered) to form 13 facets. There is a collar beneath the head. The shaft is circular in cross-section with a diameter of 1.5mm at the top. There is a ring-and-dot motif on each main side and a single dot on each of the upper and lower chamfers. An almost complete post-Medieval lead alloy one-piece button (c. 1550-c. 1700). The shank is broken before the loop. This solid button is circular, convex at the front and slightly convex at the back. The front has a raised flower head motif consisting of eight petals around a central pellet in a circle. A small base and body sherd of Roman wheel thrown greyware ceramic vessel dating c.AD 100-300. The sherd is a small irregular body and base sherd with clear striations indicating a wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is hard with numerous mica specks throughout the sherd. Cast copper alloy Roman seal box lid, lozenge-shaped in plan with cross-hatching of twenty-five lozenge-shaped cells for enamel. Some light blue-green enamel survives in a few of the cells. The four corners of the lozenge shape have knops projecting from them which are now worn. These knops would have originally fitted into notches in the base half of the seal box.
