An incomplete silver sovereign-type penny of the Medieval period, from the reign of Henry VII, AD1485-1509.
Obverse description: King enthroned, holding orb and sceptre, one pillar to throne.
Obverse inscription: [HENRIC DI REX ANG].
Reverse description: Shield of Arms over long cross fourchee dividing the legend with a key in both bottom quarters.
Reverse inscription: CIVI [TAS E]BO RACI.
Minted by Archbishop Rotherham.
The coin is in a poor condition with some wear, mainly on the obverse. It has been clipped on most edges and is reduced in size because of this.
