A copper alloy nummus of the Roman period from the reign of Constantine I, AD 306-337, Reece period 16. Obverse description: Laureate,cuirassed bust right. Obverse inscription: CONSTANTINVS AVG. Reverse description: Large globe on an altar inscribed VO-TIS-XX in three lines, three stars above,C R across both fields. Mintmark PLG for Lyons. The coin is in a good condition witha little wear on all surfaces. There is evidence of rusting on both faces suggesting it was buried in close proximity to an iron object. Thickness 2.17mm,weight 3.8g,diameter 18.97mm. RIC VII, no.129.

An incomplete copper alloy Headstud brooch of Roman date, circa AD 75-200. The brooch is almost complete apart from the loop at the head of the bow, with the remains of the pin and the catch plate still extant. The bow head is slightly angular (comma shaped) in profile. The wings are almost flat, and are oval in profile to accomodate the axis bar. The bow is broad and tapers slightly to an ovoid knop which forms the terminal. An incomplete copper alloy Polden Hill brooch of Roman date, circa AD 80-120. The foot of the brooch, catch plate, pin, spring and axis bar are all missing. The remains of the brooch consist of the head, wings, and upper part of the bow. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile. The bow is broad and tapers to a damaged, pointed terminal, with a well-developed patina.
