A copper alloy nummus of the Roman period from the reign of Constantine I, AD 306-337, Reece period 16.
Obverse description: Laureate,cuirassed bust right.
Obverse inscription: CONSTANTINVS AVG.
Reverse description: Large globe on an altar inscribed VO-TIS-XX in three lines, three stars above,C R across both fields. Mintmark PLG for Lyons.
The coin is in a good condition witha little wear on all surfaces. There is evidence of rusting on both faces suggesting it was buried in close proximity to an iron object.
Thickness 2.17mm,weight 3.8g,diameter 18.97mm.
