A Post Medieval C16-18th, crudely cast, lead alloy, medium size, circular and flat, uniface token. The Powell 32-type classification system for leaden token and tallies type 2. Obverse: initials 'IP'.Note: The letter I could represent a 'J' before C17th. Reverse: blank. Little wear - very fine condition. One casting sprue remnant at the 12 o'clock position this is more visible on the blank reverse. Slightly buckled/distorted by agricultural machinery, otherwise a matt pale grey surface. Obverse: Reversed initials 'L.P'. Reverse: Blank. Some wear or poorly cast - fine condition. Two casting sprue runner remnants, one at 12 o'clock position and the other one at 5 o'clock. There is also a probable casting fault on the blank reverse behind the letter 'L' otherwise a matt grey surface. This is likely to date between 1500-1799. Ref.
